Announcing Skysoclear, a new agency supporting businesses with no-code

For the past 15 years, I have helped businesses deliver new products from idea to launch. In more recent years, I’ve demonstrated this in the 200+ Design Sprints that I’ve run with companies from NatWest to McKinsey & Company. This, all coming from a largely self-taught background in digital design. …

How to Help New Participants Become Comfortable with Mural

Mural has yet to hit the mainstream, even with big players like IBM, Atlassian and Intuit adopting the visual workspace to enable their teams to solve big problems. But using a new tool can be difficult. Time and time again I’m reminded of how every single person has a unique…

Hyper Island Design Principles Course

In the UX Upskill course, students learn how to develop many of the hard and soft skills they will need in the fast-paced world of service and product design. The purpose of the upskill program is to help individuals who need to upskill or re-skill in order to keep their job, move on to new more advanced career opportunities or change their career path. My role was to design a 4-week programme under the Design Principles track. Over four weeks, I shared highly interactive and collaborative content through a series of Mural workshops, talks and assignments to engage the 47 students and help them in their learning of how to solve problems with design.

Growing Pains

Designing better teams by understanding the common pitfalls — Ask anyone that manages a team or department, and the area that they spend most of their time on and worry the most about is their people. I’m becoming ever interested in the design of teams. Whilst I’ve discovered a better way of working in the Design Sprint, the design…

How Save the Children UK started solving early language development with a Sprint

Using the Design Sprint, how could we support parents to build their children’s language and communication skills? — This is a story about a GV style design sprint. If you’ve never heard of that, you can learn more here or read the book. Silver foil. Glue. Cotton wool. These were just a few of the tools needed in our prototyping day, but before we get into that, how…

Handover Day

The lesser-known final day of the Design Sprint (where dreams become reality!) — “The Design Sprint is great, but…” One of the most common issues I hear time and time again comes from teams after the Design Sprint. Teams will say something similar to: “The Design Sprint is great, but we don’t have everything we need to continue the good work and put into production” The thing is, the…
